University of Texas Sorority Houses

Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delt)

Delta Delta Delta, known as Tri-Delt, was founded November 27th, 1888 at Boston University in Boston, MA. The Theta Zeta Chapter was founded here at the University of Texas in 1912. Their house is located in the heart of West campus at 503 W 27th St, Austin, TX 78707.

Philanthropy: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Tri-Delt’s philanthropy supports the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each year, the sorority hosts four special events to raise funds. They’re clearly successful. In fact, last year alone, the chapter at the University of Texas raised more than $99,000!

In the fall, the UT chapter hosts a fundraiser called the Texas Tri-Delta Game Day, a watch party hosted at a local restaurant during an away game. Its members sell tickets to the day’s activities, which include delicious food, a sand volleyball tournament, and sisterhood.

Later in the year, they participate in a Sincerely Yours letter writing campaign, alongside Tri-Delts all over the country. During this campaign, each member writes no less than 50 letters to family and friends, encouraging them to make donations in support of the kids at St. Jude.

During Round-up Weekend, they host their annual Courtyard Cookout. It’s a fun, outdoor party open to all students in exchange for a small donation. A ton of sorority and fraternity members alike come out to support them. Of course, attendees also come out to enjoy burgers, sodas, and their dunking booth.

Around Easter, the sorority hosts their Easter Eggstravaganza. The sorority invites their alumnae and their alumnae’s children to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon, packed with an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter bunny, face painting, and a raffle. The proceeds are donated directly to St. Jude.
