Welcome! Meet our Social Media Intern and Current Sorority Girl, Cloe!

Say hello to Cloe Daoud, one of our amazing Social Media Interns and a proud Alpha Phi sister at the University of Texas at Austin! Cloe is a sophomore at McCombs School of Business with a focus in Finance who brings creativity, positivity, and passion for connection to everything she does, whether she’s running social media or supporting her sisters in Greek life.

Hi, I’m Cloe!

Hi everyone! My name is Cloe, and I’m currently attending the University of Texas at Austin. I’ve lived in Austin my entire life, so choosing UT was one of the easiest decisions; it’s always felt like home. The city’s “Keep Austin Weird” energy means there’s always something exciting to do!

Why I Decided to Go Through Sorority Recruitment as a Sophomore

During my freshman year, I realized how hard it could be to meet people who truly felt like my kind of community. That’s what motivated me to participate in sorority recruitment as a sophomore! I wanted to find girls I could call my best friends, sisters, and future bridesmaids.

Going through sorority rush as a sophomore made everything feel easier. I already had friends in Greek life, knew my way around campus, and had a better sense of who I was and what I was looking for. That confidence made the experience so much more enjoyable and meaningful.

The Best Part of Bid Day

The best part of Bid Day was opening my bid and running to the house! That’s the moment you finally find out who your new sisters are, and it’s such an unforgettable feeling. There’s so much energy, excitement, and joy in the air. I’ll never forget the rush of emotions when I realized Alpha Phi was my new home.

What I Love Most About Alpha Phi

One thing I love most about Alpha Phi is the constant support system. These girls are always there for each other, whether it’s a study night at the house in the movie room or a shopping trip on South Congress. Everyone genuinely wants to see each other succeed. The love, genuine friendships, and encouragement within this sisterhood are what make it so special.

My Favorite Memory So Far

One of my favorite memories has to be the UT TX-OU Weekend! From the road trip to Dallas, Buc-ee’s stops, and carnival rides, to celebrating a second win in a row, every moment was full of laughter. Even when a few cars got towed (oops!), it just added to the chaos and the unforgettable memories. Experiencing that weekend surrounded by my sisters reminded me why this sisterhood means so much to me.

My Advice for Future Girls Going Through Recruitment

If you’re thinking about going through sorority recruitment, my best advice is simple: just go for it! You only get one opportunity to experience being in a sorority in college, so take the time to put your best foot forward – especially when it comes to your social resume, recommendations, and registration video. Also, please know that rush is not just for freshmen. At UT, lots of sophomores rush every year!  Even though I’ve only been a member for a few months, the friendships, growth, and memories that come from it are definitely once in a lifetime!!

Bringing My Greek Life Experience to Hiking in Heels

Now, as part of the Hiking in Heels team, I use my experience in Alpha Phi and UT Greek life to inspire and guide other young women through their own recruitment journeys, helping them build confidence, make genuine connections, and find their forever home, too.

Xoxo,
Cloe
